I have a Ph. D in Counseling and Health Psychology from Stanford University and a master’s degree from San Jose State University in School Psychology. I spent a decade as a school psychologist and am comfortable working with high school and college age students. I completed an internship year at a Veteran Administration Hospital after multiyear clinical training as a County Mental Health therapist to individuals, groups, and couples. My three-year post-doctoral training was at the Stanford University School of Medicine where I researched stress related issues and the psychological consequences of disease.
My approach integrates mindfulness, cognitive behavioral, existential, and narrative approaches to healing. For a decade at Stanford, I created and co-taught positive psychology happiness classes to graduate and undergraduate students. At the heart of my therapeutic approach is an affirmation of the good, the necessity for loving relationships, and an affirmation of a positive purpose in life. My approach posits that almost anyone can learn skills to help them live happier and more fulfilled lives.
I offer Zoom-based counseling to individuals and couples who are in the State of California. I specialize in helping individuals and families forgive themselves and each other. I do not accept insurance as payment but am willing to provide billing for clients to get reimbursement from their insurance provider.
